Dr. A.K. Saxena (Chairman)

Dr. A. K. Saxena is the pioneer of Computer Aided Drug Design (CADD) in India and is regarded as the father of QSAR in India, a very novel technique in the field of drug discovery.


He is an outstanding medicinal chemist and represents ASIA continent as editorial board member of several journals SAR and QSAR in Environmental Research, Medicinal Chemistry Research, Current topics in medicinal chemistry, etc. and international book series TOPICS IN MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY.


Dr. A. K. Saxena did his PhD from Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow under the supervision of Dr.NityaAnand who recently was awarded “Padma Shri”. He was the recipient of Alex. V. Humboldt Fellowship.


Dr. Saxena has a research experience of 51 years in Medicinal Chemistry. His expertise in the field can be gauged by the tremendous research output in terms of publications and patents including invention of the drug Centbutidole licensed to Chemosyn Ltd. for marketing by the then Honorable Prime Minister of India (late) Shri. Rajiv Gandhi in 1986.
